The hourly message limit

There is a limit to how many messages an account can send per hour. When you reach it, the page tells you when you can write again.

To keep mass messages out, an account can only send a certain number of messages per hour. Most members never notice the limit.

When you reach it

The conversation shows a note that you have reached your hourly message limit, together with the time from which you can write again. Until then you cannot send.

Nothing is lost. Messages you already sent were delivered, and messages others send you still arrive.

What to do

  • Wait until the time shown.
  • Use the time to write one clear message instead of several short ones.

Why it exists

  • It protects sellers from buyers who send the same text to everyone.
  • It protects buyers from accounts that send mass messages.

If you get mass messages yourself

Report the sender from their profile and choose Spam. You can block them at once, so nothing more arrives. See report a member.

Good to know

The limit is counted per account, not per conversation. Opening a new conversation does not reset it.
