Error messages when you sign up
The sign-up form names what to fix: a taken username, an email address that already has an account, a password that is too short or a form that timed out.
When the sign-up form does not accept your entries, it marks the field and says why. These are the messages you can meet.
Username
- Taken: someone has this name. The form suggests free ones.
- 4 to 32 characters and only letters, numbers and underscores.
- Add at least one letter: a name of digits only is not possible.
- This name isn't allowed: choose another one.
- This email already has an account: log in, or reset your password.
- Check your email address: there is a typing mistake in it.
- Addresses with + aren't supported: use the address without the plus part.
- This email can't be used: choose another address. Throwaway addresses do not work.
Password
- 8 to 32 characters, without spaces at the start or the end.
The checkboxes
You need to confirm that you are 18 or older and accept the Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Messages about the form itself
- Take a second to check your details: the form was sent very fast. Send it again.
- The form timed out: tap the button again.
- An account was created from this network recently: try again later, or log in if the account is yours.
- Too many tries: wait an hour.
- No connection: your entries are kept. Send again when you are online.
