Technical problems

A photo does not upload

Check the format and the size. Photos need to be JPG or PNG with enough pixels, and the page names the reason when it refuses one.

When a photo is refused, the page tells you why. These are the messages and what to do about each.

The photo is too small

A profile photo needs at least 600 × 600 pixels, a listing photo at least 600 × 400. Choose the original from your camera roll, not a thumbnail or a screenshot of it.

The photo is too large

Very large files cannot be processed. Choose a normal photo from your phone, or save the picture in a smaller size first. A photo in a message can have up to 5 MB.

The photo cannot be opened

  • Use JPG or PNG. GIF works for listings and messages.
  • Some browsers cannot open HEIC photos from an iPhone. On the iPhone, open Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG.

No connection

The page says that your photo was not saved. Check your connection and choose the photo again.

You are logged out

Log in again and repeat the upload.

Saved, but a photo is missing

A listing can be saved while one of its photos failed. Open the listing and add that photo again.

Good to know

Large photos are made smaller in your browser before they are sent, which can take a moment on an older phone. Wait until the preview appears.
