In British shops a tanga is a brief with narrow sides, sometimes little more than a band at the hip, and a back that covers more than a thong does. In Spanish, and in several other languages, tanga is simply the everyday word for a thong. US brands mostly avoid the term and sell similar shapes under other names.

Telling the shape from the photos
