How should we enter 2022? With energy and positivity to face whatever the year may throw at us! Can you think of a better way to do that than by enjoying our sexuality and releasing endorphins? We can’t.
Throughout 2022 there are a number of national holidays that celebrate important sex-positive milestones. Check them out below and remember to mark your favourites in the diary!
February 14: We’ll start, of course, with Valentine's Day, the international day of love. Valentine’s Day isn’t only about showing love to your romantic partner, it’s about showing love to any important people in your life, like friends and family. It’s a day for showing those special people we care about them.
Mark this date in your calendar! It doesn't matter if you don't buy gifts, sometimes a simple message, an I love you or a hug is more than enough.
March 8th: International Women's Day. On this day we celebrate freedom and equality as well as the importance of continuing to break down barriers and recognise the daily hardships and accomplishments of half the world’s population.
It’s a day for celebration, but also for fighting battles that still need to be won, for ourselves and women in less privileged situations.
14 March: International fellatio day. Oral sex is something that the vast majority of people enjoy. Unsurprisingly, fellatio has its own day. Whether it's giving it or receiving it, this day is for celebrating this sexy act.
April 13th: International Kissing Day. At Panty.com we don't forget the tender moments. Send a kiss to your partner, your friend, or your manager, if necessary!
Kissing can be romantic and sexual, but it can also be a way to show platonic love and affection to other people in your life. Spread the joy this April!
June 13th: Anal Sex Day. From kissing to anal sex. It’s a big leap for some, a small leap for many others.
Anal sex has been and still is a controversial topic, and there are still many people who swear off it. While in the heterosexual sphere it is something practised by relatively few couples, it is more commonly enjoyed by homosexual partners.
There is some logic behind this. Many hetero men are stuck in the past and believe they should be the ones to give, not receive, anal pleasure. Little do they know, the male prostate can be stimulated to orgasm by anal sex!
If you haven't tried it yet but you want to, don't leave it until 13 June - start today.
21 June: Polyamory Day. Why love one person, when you can love more than one? We’ve covered polyamory in the Panty.com blog already. Polyamory is the practice of loving and having romantic relationships with more than one person at once.
There can be three or more people in a poly relationship. Everyone could be in a relationship with everyone else, or certain people will have relationships with certain partners and other people separate from their primary relationship. How someone practices polyamory is up to them and their partners.
Fortunately for us, love and sex are embraced in a broader and more open way today. June 21st is the perfect day to celebrate polyamory and launch an arrow to show support for this kind of loving.
28 June: LGBTQI+ Pride Day. This is the day to celebrate diversity, love and minority genders. It is the day to celebrate and respect those living their lives in non-traditional ways. And, above all, the day to continue claiming the right to love whoever you want and to be yourself.
5th August: Underwear Day. 5th August is our favourite day of the year! It is the day to celebrate underwear - something we can definitely get behind. Whatever the colour, material or style, August 5th is the day to wear your favourite pair and put them to good use.
August 8th: Female Orgasm Day. The female orgasm, something that has been historically forgotten about, finally has its own day. Don't wait for the 8th of August to have pleasure and treat yourself to a mind-blowing orgasm. Whether you’re alone or in company, an orgasm is a perfect end to a relaxing evening.
September 4: International Sexual Health Day. This day is all about celebrating sexuality in a healthy way and taking care of ourselves and our sexual partners. Sexual diseases are not only what is taken into account on this day, but also the enjoyment of sex in a healthy and safe way.
6th September. Oral sex day. This day celebrates one of the most popular practices in bed: oral sex. Though some people bypass oral sex, for others, it’s their favourite part and the only way they can climax. And don’t forget (considering Sexual Health Day was just around the corner) to practice safe sex, because STIs can still be spread during oral sex!
21 October: International Fisting Day. Do you know what fisting is? Fisting consists of putting your whole fist inside your partner. Obviously in areas prepared for it... Fisting is usually practised when pleasuring someone with a vagina. A vagina, when aroused, dilates a lot… So, do you dare to try it?
Each year, new sexual things are discovered and new national days are made to commemorate them. Don’t forget that you can choose to explore your sexuality any day of the year.
If you have more special dates that you want us to add to our calendar, write to us and send us your suggestions.
